Born on May 1, 1947 in Dehgam in Gujarat, Western India, Indravadan Trivedi evinced a keen interest in classical dance from his early childhood. He began his training in classical dance at the tender age of seven at the Baroda Music College and mastered Bharata Natyam. He is also adedicated Kuchipudi dancer. He mastered the art under Guru Shri Acharyalu of Darpan Academy of Performing Arts, run by the famous Smt. Mrinalini Sarabhai.
A dedicated dancer for the past 25 years, he has performed in various centres in the homeland as Ahamedabad, Baroda, Calcutta, Delhi, Lucknow, Madras, Bangalore and Bombay. He travelled widely abroad from 1980 to 1982, performing classical dances and pupetry in Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, West Germany, France, England, USA, Canada, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Bangladesh.
Trivedi is also extraordinarily talented in Foot – Painting Dance. He depicts the exquisite skill in butterflies, flowers, athletic humans, and natural scenes, an unusual and unique performances conveying the message of love, peace, friendship and world unity.
Trivedi is an expert in puppetry. He was trained in this art by Smt Meherben Contractor, Director, puppet Department, Darpan Academy. He travelled with the Darpan Puppet group which performed in London and participated in the First Asian Pacific Festival held in Tokyo in 1979.
He has choreographed dances as “Krishna Leela”, “Chandalika”, “Vidhi Nataka-Ramayana”, “Sandhya Tandava”, “Pralaya Tandava” and “Shakuntala”.
During his diverse artistic carrier, he has been acclaimed for his artistic sensibility, unique blend of music and expression, depiction of ancient art with pristine purity but still creating a modern interest in the discriminating aesthetic audiences.
